below is a list of the most common diseases frogs can aquire.

metobolic bone disease (MBD): MBD is a form of calcium deficiency which is the cause of  low calcium and D3 supplements in the frogs diet, or if your frog is fed excess amounts of pinkies(baby mice). the results are deformitys in your frogs bones, mainly in skull/jaw bones and leg bones. the best way to prevent this disease occuring is to feed your frog calcium and D3 supplements. if your frog has MBD it is usually irraversable, but calcium injections from a vet may reverse MBD slightly.

fungal infections: if a frog has an abrasion or bruise to the skin, and if the humidity in the enclosure is high, a fungal infection may devolop on the wound. fungal infections are a dark brown/red to black coloration, if not treated it can grow at a rapid rate, and kill your frogs within weeks. the infection can be treated topically by daubing mercurochrome (2 percent), hydrogen peroxide (2 percent) on the infected area with a cotton pad.

water edema to legs/body: if your frog looks like it is bloated with water, especially in its limbs, it may have kidney disease. frogs can get this disease by rehydrating their body in dirty water or having diets which are to rich in vit a, calcium and vit D3. this is why you MUST make sure your water source is clean at all times. this disease is usually uncurable.

sores and injuries: some captive frogs will get a bruised or scratched snout while attempting to leave his/her enclosure. frogs will usually try to get out of their enclosure because they do not like something about it eg: temp, humidity, hidespots etc. to prevent sores or bruises aquired by the frog when trying to escape, you should keep them in an adequate size enclosure with plenty of hidespots etc and prefered temp/humidity for the species of frog you are keeping. open wounds should be washed with a disinfectant solution like Betadine. or you could inject baytril via the ventral area. The dosage is 10mg/kg and you can repeat it every 48 hours up to 14 days.
